When Should You Replace Your Air Filter?

At a minimum, you should replace your HVAC air filter at the start of every season. Since Fall just arrived, now is a good time to inspect your filter so your heating and cooling system can continue to operate safely and efficiently.

There are many different types and sizes of air filters that you can buy at your local store. Our recommendation is to purchase a high-quality air filter that can remove mold, pollen, dust, and other unseen air particles.

How To Replace Your HVAC Air Filter.

This is a really simple process that everyone can do. And remember, you should check and change the filters every 3 months if you are using pleated filters and on a monthly basis if you’re using a basic polyester filter.

  1. Turn your heating and cooling system off and remove the cover off the air return.
  2. Remove your old air filter and insert the new one making sure the arrow on the filter is facing in the correct direction.
  3. Put the cover back on and restart your HVAC system.
